I forgot to say in my previous posting that the engine felt a little tired. It has covered 256000km, but has been serviced by a main dealer at all of the usual intervals

Hi,
are you sure, that you are talking about a S8? I can´t believe it because as far as I know the S8 wasn´t manufactured before 1994. Therefore the car you are talking about must be a V8. Do you have any kind of pictures ?
