1990 Quattro V8, has a blinking CAT light on the dash.

If anyone wants to know, it means the catalytics are overheating due to an ignition problem with the engine.

one of the reasons can be too much oil on the engine. This burns and overheats the cats.

catalyst control module fixed the problem.......
Were there other symptons except blinking CAT- light?
I had low power (only few cylinders working?), heavily overheated cat... Seems that no proper ignition and fuel burning in the cat. The car was serviced and they changed the spark plugs, worked for about 40 kms and now the
same problem...
