Audi A8 QUATTRO 4.2 Starting Problems

This vehicle was first registered here in Madrid on 5.1.1999. During the first year (2000) the car had to be towed four times to the workshop, as the battery suddenly emptied within a few hours. Her local workshop (JARMAUTO) could not find the error. After four new batteries partly paid off by me on the way, I myself diagnosed the error as a short circuit in the ignition lock. At my urging and under violent protests, your dealer then changed the ignition lock. After that, I had rest. I found out later that this mistake is known to you and that there was even a recall action in the USA about it. Why did I get around here like that? In the first year I was only able to drive about 5,000 km by car, as I always had concerns about longer distances.



The car has recently been developing electronic trouble again. He loses the memory overnight. When trying to start, the immobilizer (AUTO with key) flashes. Only after three attempts the car starts. At the same time, the timer makes a reset to 1999. As already feared, JARMAUTO can not find the mistake again and is totally perplexed. The car was delivered to me with the same defect. What makes the defect a bit difficult is that it does not always occur, only about 8 out of 10 times.



I don't know if that might be. is connected to the ignition lock again. Can you please tell me where to find this mistake? According to the dealer, nothing is displayed in the error message. The dealer's staff is completely helpless again. JARMAUTO is one of the best of all dealers of the VW Group here in Madrid.
