I drive a 89 V8 3.6 l automatic.
My Audi workshop had originally signaled oil loss on the gearbox. Since this repair is almost priceless and I didn't quite trust the statement, another workshop gave me the diagnosis that it was not about transmission oil, but about servo oil and probably licks the steering gear, as the oil loss only becomes noticeable when driving. So steering gears changed.
BUT: Oil loss continues to occur, but not so much. The oil loss can be seen more on the right side (passenger side). However, it is not exactly to locate without disassembly. ==References== 30 km drive it smokes from the wheel boxes (probably because oil drips on the cat and the exhaust). Standing there, no oil puddle (just a few drops) formed.
Does anyone have any advice on where the oil loss could come from?
Thank you and all the readers nice Christmas!
