gearbox

can anyone help...... I have an audi v8 4.2 engine only which i am attempting to fit in a race car.I have been told that the bell housing is the same bolt pattern as late passats can anyone confirm this and possibly where i can get a flywheel 2nd hand for a manuel. cheers
