Hello community,
just wanted to know for a moment how the sealing ring is properly "laid up" by the oil drain screw. Until now I have always put the indentation upwards, so that it lies on the oil pan when it is turned on.
Now I just wanted to know if this is right and why. Is this the same with all other vehicles?

zuerst mal Danke für Deine Antwort. Ich habe aber den Ölfilter und den dazugehörenden Dichtring bei Audi gekauft und dieser hat auf einer Seite rundum eine Einkerbung.

Ups! dann wurde die wohl geändert ! na ja habe 95 bei Audi
aufgehört da gabs die noch massiv !
