It's finally time. I've got a day before my 23rd. Birthday fulfilled my dream. Now he's at my door.
My Audi A8 3.7 Quattro, BJ 06/1996.
It took long. Since Christmas, I've been playing with the idea of buying one. In the search for information, I came across this first-class forum. Despite some of the problems described, I did not let myself be discouraged from buying an 8. I wrote a search ad in the marketplace and of course at the same time, for months the scrap at mobile, etc. ==References==
In fact, someone who wanted to give up his A8 was reporting. In February I visited the car and since then I have thought of nothing else, working colleagues, friends, parents annoyed. Since 24.04. This time is finally over.
At the first exit there were no faults on 300 km. Unfortunately, I was not spared a problem. ==References== Day after purchase, the oil pressure switch went over the Jordan. My mother almost killed me when she "discovered" the oil stain on her newly paved yard (well, he was not to be overlooked). Luckily, I've noticed he's losing a lot of oil. Don't think what would have happened if I had been pumped the oil out of the block with four bars on the highway.
OK, so to the expert, besides shiftwork with Audi independent screwdriver. After 1 hour of fear (I didn't know what it was - after all, the switch lies directly under the head seal on the right cylinder bench) everything was good again.
Next tour from southern Nuremberg to Wiesbaden - no problems.
Last night, from Wiesbaden, "home" to France. At the end of the 580 km, the on-board computer shows an average consumption of 9.2 liters at 100 km. I think that's a little too optimistic. But at least I managed the 880 km with just a little refuelling.
Absolutely decent driving... OK, my previous A3 wasn't exactly the wood class, but the latte has now been put up for coming. I could really get used to it. I got used to the really smooth 5 gear automatic so well that I wanted to feed nurses Opel Corsa without a clutch with the reverse gear (peeky, embarrassing).
My new companion has now run 163000 km, has all inspections, stands on brand new 245/45 18 on MAE, came with 900 km old 225 winter tires, track widening at the HA by 30 mm. Everything is registered. The leather (Recaro Sport) looks like new, everything works. Nothing's clattering, the chassis doesn't make any noise.
From the seller I still have new wiper blades, a new LMM (we changed wrongly, despite function), new brake pads VA, spring plate VA for 15 mm lowering, the original radio (the concert from 1999 - I want to sell the 1996er) and many more parts. The purchase price of 12,500 Öre is therefore completely in order for me. - Just because of the rims and tires. For less, I'd have gotten one with infirmity.
When I bought it, I noticed that the ashtray lighting didn't work. The seller down 65 euros again. I thought that was correct. The final price is 12,435 euros.
Some of you I may have been annoyed with my questions and requests for purchase advice. I would like to thank all those who helped me make my decision to buy this great car.
Here we go...

Greetings from France
Flo

. Beim nächsten Treffen im bayrischen Raum bin ich auf jeden Fall am Start. Ich freu mich schon darauf.
