After a visit to a Waschstr. (Underfloor washing) my V8 only thought to drive stuttering and after a few 100 m after short patching up the Kat warning display to have to pull a flame tail behind him.... All right - fire extinguisher on it and calm was/is...
Damaged (composed, partly torched) is obviously only the plastic envelope tube of the drive shaft running parallel to the transmission (back axle drive in front of the cardan shaft) and the cable entry of the thermosensor.
Otherwise, no damage is apparent. However, the vehicle swallows up while gasing since the washing-up road visit (i.e. even before the fire) and now seems to need considerably more fuel.
So pick a mistake at the least mistrusted workshop... Result: various "sporadic" mass errors on motor and gear control elements, a sporadic too weak speedometer signal and an apparently current error at the full-speed switch. It would fit into the picture, but between error reading and diagnosis was and/or is at o.a. Workshop still a heaven wide way needed. What could be specifically defective (or wet) could not or did not want to tell me - not even where this ominous full load switch is located.....
Please write to me what you know about the symptoms and what kind of troubleshooting measures you recommend. I would also like to know why the drive shaft runs over the right cat (in the direction of travel) in a plastic tube and how a hole in it could be harmful. On top of that, I am interested in why this wrapping tube is directly above a cat from a material that can be inflamed with a poppy lighter ....
Greetings and thanks

Moin Wintho,
