This morning, I was caught again with a case with which I would like to show some effort in solving it.
The following vehicle is affected:
Audi A8 4.2 Quattro Bj. 2000 (i.e. a facelifter) with factory folding trailer coupling (but I have never used it myself),
The case:
This morning, turning to ca. Three to four times blinking suddenly turned on the indicator lamp for trailer operation in AI (a small indicator symbol with a "1" in the middle, green, in the left part of the tachometer) and the turn signal has simply adjusted the operation when the steering stick lever is placed. At some point the lamp went out again, after one, twice blinking then again the same phenomenon. Pendant light on -> turn signal no function, light off -> turn signal goes.
At the moment the lamp is always on, so it can't blink anymore - is a bit annoying in traffic, especially because I can't stand people who don't blink

I then thought that somewhere in the trailer plug or on the way there could be a short circuit and pulled the fuse 2B in the trunk (marked as "trailer"). But this has not brought about any change.
Funny enough, the warning flasher works without any problems. When I turn this on, the trailer control light disappears instantly and even stays out of it sometimes. But as soon as I use the normal turn signal (no matter left or right), there is a layer in the shaft.
The error memory is (unfortunately) empty, so that I am standing in the reeds. Has anyone ever seen this before? Or do you have any idea where I could start looking?
Thank you very much for your help,
Michi
