Hello, dear community,
I have had a problem for about 4 years, which unfortunately has increased in frequency and shape so that I don't like driving the car at the moment.
And this is what happens:The car starts cold without any problems, the starter goes loose.
When I warmed up the car (approx. >20km) and then turn off and start again immediately, everything is easy.
But if I do, for example. refuel and pay (so after a waiting time of 5-15 min.) and then start, the starter only spins tiredly and barely manages (or not at all!) to turn the engine. It sounds like a dead battery (but it's tested and ok).
If I wait longer and the car gets cold again, the starter goes crazy again.
My workshop master now wants to change the starter because he suspects a defect of the magnetic switch. This costs approximately 1400 EUR (approx. 500 EUR starter + work) since parts of the suspension have to be removed and the engine raised. W12 just...
My concerns are that I spend the money and that the mistake is still there. So, does anyone have another idea?
It is about a 6.0 W12 BJ.2002 with 185000 km.
Greetings Marc

Servus,
