I wanted to introduce myself before I asked for help with Post 1.
My name is Peter, I'm 36 years old and car mechanic. I learned from Lancia Fiat and 10 years of Renault behind me.
We have the V8 in our workshop and I have now exposed it because of the timing belt change but as it is so problems to get rid of the crankshaft screw.
The problem is that we don't get a special tool for KW because no part dealer leads to it. And we have already asked 2 VAG companies here where we have good contact. Normal we get there also a manual on request and tool borrowed for emergency. Or at least bought it.
But workshop master as well as warehouseman told me that AUDI no longer provides data for the car and they also don't have tools. It is incomprehensible to me that a company/world corporation has archived the old cheese which itself does not eat bread simply digitally. At Renault I get e.g. still documents for 40-year-old vehicles. Very likely you would still get this information due to a technical request as license partner of Audi but that is cumbersome and whether there is then the special tool to buy at AUDI original be put aside. I don't think so.
But now, I'm really talking about the crankshaft screw. I don't want to leave the car now because the customer doesn't know where he could have it repaired. Any VAG operation here would not accept the car and would not have any staff who can/will do this etc.
And I have already, without wanting to shit now, certainly 200 timing belts renewed also with motor extend and 4 camshafts etc. Which is why I'm not afraid of the V8. But I've never had such a solid screw. Maybe the operation that changed the timing belt according to the sticker 15 years ago has hit the thing with high-strength securing glue and far too much torque.
I'm the only one who can't find a tool to hold the KW. A self-made tool which I can put into the belt disc with a long tube gives way, there is nothing that bends the tool.
In addition, the fear that the screw may be going off. I can't imagine myself personally with such a brutal thick 12.9-piece screw but you've already seen horses vomit.
The question to you, can someone help me in terms of loosening the screw or special tool and do you know if sun screw has been torn off before?
Furthermore, as a mechanic, I wonder why you should take 450Nm to wear. Some also thought that 360Nm was enough, but I think that itself is extremely high. What is this high torque for?
The gear belt wheel on the KW has a nose and is locked in the KW. It's not even a diesel, it's just a Wapu ne oil pump and the camshafts are powered, so there's no real load to bear. It is used to drive a plastic fabric belt. I suppose that even temperature fluctuations do not justify such a high torque.
Normal would have to achieve a torque that a good impact wrench with a freshly filled compressor. It's a feast. Or just the long torque gun.
I don't know if some people here know what that's like with Renault. Since we have gears sitting on the crankshaft that have absolutely no lock and can be turned back and forth with 2 fingers on it. These are held ONLY by pressing pressure, even with diesels and they do not require such a deform strength :-)
I thank you very much for your tips, no matter how long you screw, you can always learn something from lovers and experience makes a good screwdriver, so I ask here at the source.
Vorneweg: Wo ist denn deine Werkstätte, also welcher PLZ-Kreis?
Hmmm, kein Plan warum.
