Hello all,

I've had my V8 for a number of years now and love her immensely. Never any real problems. I have just yesterday experienced a minor hiccup with the window/indicators and horn not working when in drive...however they seem to operate fine when I'm parked, this would suggest that it's not a fuse problem, but I'm far from being an expert - Any suggestions please!?

Additionally, I had the car in the garage last year and swear that I gave my bound service manual with FSH to the garagist...Unfortunately to my great disappointment it has disappeared without a trace and I have no maintenance reference material. Does anyone have an available electronic copy please or a source to one?

Thanks in advance for any help/advice and very best regards.

I have had a problem recently where the electric windows weren't working, which i noticed only once I was moving, shortly after starting. once stopped and in P, they were sometimes ok, sometimes not. I presume at this stage that it is maybe related to load reduction circuit.
The next time that it happens, I'll check the other functions.

mine is a UK, RHD model

Thanks a lot for Mark,

I have in fact figured out what the snag is - I'm not sure and doubtful if this applies to your situation, but you never know...

Quite simply the problem happens when I start the car - I have found that if (particularly in drive) I turn the ignition key back by a degree or two then everything functions fine - This has never happened before last weekend, I guess it's just the ignition getting a little sensitive...I had to figure it out as strangely it also cut out the wipers and the heating.

In any case it seems to be fine now with just this little consideration.

I'm on an RHD, though with UK plates. I don't suppose you had any ideas on the owner's/maintenance manual?

Thanks again and best regards,

Niel

Oddly enough, I was going to mention ignition switch, but I've been a bit pre-occupied.

I have a copy of the microfiche thing in PDF, if that helps. It's got some indexing to make searching easier. It's what I use, a lot. It was originally from someone on here.
If you want a copy, send me pm with an email address, and I'll attach what I have. The only downside is that it is American market, left hand drive, so some extra thinking is required for the uk market differences.

For me it sounds like a worn ignition switch. The switch (4A0905849B) is available for about 15,00 €. Replacement can be done without too much efforts.
