Since my "old" contribution to the topic is no longer available, here is only a short report about the successful troubleshooting:
My first suspicion that it is NOT due to the ignition harnesses and distributors has been confirmed.
Reading the fault memory brought the error to light: Speed sensor
At the first visual inspection under the car I found that the cables for both encoders (speed and OT) are damaged on the insulation.
The givers from my butcher (2.8 V6) are identical, but I could only expand one, the other stuck too firmly in the block. So I built one in, and the other one. only in the damaged place with insulating tape thickly wrapped. The car is running again as it should.
Of course you could buy the givers anew, but I hate to have to throw away parts because of slight defects...I also stick my shoes and my sunglasses...
The cause of the damage to the insulation was sloppyness. At some point the cable was pulled out of its holding clip, so that it now hung close to the half-axle and also ground on it. After the insulation was through, the wire mesh of the sheath touched the semi-axle joint, which may have led to false signals and caused the dropouts.
So for those who work thoroughly no danger, but who likes to slash, when working in the area should be careful to avoid such defects...

HEy Roland,
schön, dass du den Fehler gefunden hast. Ich erinnere mich an deinen alten Thread. Dann lag ich ja doch nicht so falsch =)
Grüße und gute Fahrt
