Due to the overlapping head seals and a shredded timing belt (both made before 70,000km at Audi Zentrum according to the service plan) I thought... Just complete the engine and buy it some power directly.
The aggregate:
V8 32V "AKH" 250KW/340PS
Even the dismantling of the old timing belt became a cramp. The viscofan could not be solved. Original VAG tool available. No chance, he didn't go off by force either.
Well, I still have an AKG engine in the corner where it went off.
After the fan chaos came the lower screws of the cover. The great SW 12. Of course, of 3 screws 2 went round. A dream. I could get this one out of the middle of the cutting nut, but still it's all pretty annoying. The all-in screws from the belt disc only went out by means of eight Viezahn.
Of course, screws on the water pump also cracked off. Drilling out was a nightmare, of course, got crooked at the bottom. Whatever.
The head screws were closed with oil sludge. Just like two return channels in the left and right head. Everything that could go wrong somehow went wrong.
Good, all parts washed, shaft seals and WDRs to head and block new. Assembly -> Head screws:
I cleaned the holes of the head screws all in a state of precision and still harrow the inner head screws like crazy when they were tightened. Some of them have wound by almost 45° until they have turned further down in the block.
I've never seen anything like it before. Unbelievable.
Can't tell me what's going on or what's going on.
On both sides the inner screws. The outer head screws went in like butter.
Well, tomorrow, the valve covers and the suction tube on it that finally got new hoses for the vacuum mimic and then let's see how the aggregate sounds.
If it sounds good then my modified "DTD V2.0" comes in, crossbar replacement of Lemförder is also there... Well...
Has any of you ever had problems with the head screws? I've had several V8 in my hand. However, always the D11 variant.
The first time screwed to the S8 engine... and everything goes in your pants
