as a really computer-enthusiastic person (otherwise I would never do myself an Inf-SE study
, I would be interested after all the V8 time already burningly, sometimes with a notebook and the corresponding equipment as well as software (terminal ?) to read out the numerous diagnostic and logic elements of our thickness.I have to say that I have practically no experience in the field of electronic diagnostics for cars. I once tinkered with an Audi 80, but it was a failure, especially since the software could not handle the old bowl.
Well, so it's a 91 V8 (I haven't had a long time, but I don't care), and it certainly has a lot of ports to which you can "plug". I guess there's a lot of stuff on the reps, too, right? Now it's like I don't have any special diagnostic tool, but could only come up with a normal PC including RS-232. No question that it will then need special adapters to get to the diagnostic connector of the car. Also, an RS-232 terminal alone won't be enough to get smart.
So to the central question: Where do the interesting (error memory) diagnostic plugs in our ship handle, where you get the necessary cables and plugs (approx. Costs ?) and where do I get the necessary software ? And what could be read out then (grossly said)? I suppose engine, transmission, air conditioning, the numerous valve fault memory such as airbag etc. Forget what?
I'd be really happy if any of you could help me out a little. Oh, yes, because I've been interested in this for a long time: time and again we're talking about reading out the Klimatronic error codes. How does this happen, is that possible directly via the double indicator of the climate and if so, how do I do it ? I have to knock on wood, my climate is tiptop (like the whole car apart from the usual suffering airbag, cruise control and brake lining sensor), but curiosity still drives me.
Thank you in advance and good night
Bastian
