I am now over a year really proud owner of a s8 d2 FL.
Since then, I have been following this forum and I have also gone through all the heights and depths that you can do with this car.
Since the fat one is not my everyday car, a few thoughts might have made it easy to change. I would like to have your opinion, tips, suggestions and criticism is of course welcome.
The basis for the whole story is as already mentioned a s8 d2 FL Bj. 1999 automatic in silver, all original, except small track plates.
The goal of my thoughts is to make this vehicle as easy as possible, regardless of comfort. Speak really everything out of the interior, except 2 shell seats, steering wheel and of course switchknauf.
I'd rather have a hand switch for this, but I probably don't need to tell you how rare they are.
From the outside the thick one should remain so, only that I would like to darken the windows slightly, since no more rolos are available. You would certainly save a lot of weight with plexiglas windows on the sides and rear.
Now to the questions that I'm asking.
How much weight could be saved if you were to go through with it. We don't need to talk about Tüv, so I'm expecting that it won't be possible anymore.
Since only the power weight changes, would I theoretically not have to worry about the gearbox, or do I see this wrong?
By the way, does the w12 actually have a different transmission?
There will certainly also be problems with the ECUs, as various consumers are missing, among others. airbags. Are these problems that you could get under control?
Is the weight saving noticeable?
==References== Even potential to save fuel ?

Unfortunately, I haven't heard anything about such a project before, except for a w12 at the 24h race. But I could not find anything more precise about that.
Now I am looking forward to your opinions and thank you in advance for the tips
Greetings Micah
wobei mir es da eher um den Vorgänger des A8 ging.. das war halt nen V8 in gleicher Lackierung... allerdings auch als Automat.
