Fuel pump help!

I'm so happy I found this forum! I have a 1991 V8 Quattro with only 26K miles, but its been sitting for quite a while. I tried starting the vehilce and it briefly fired up, but cut off. I had it towed to the shop in order to have the gas tank drained. The mechanic said my fuel pump was not getting any power. I thought it was clogged, but brought him a new unit anyway. He then said the new unit does not work either. Anyone know what this could be? Is there another fuse or relay he might not be familiar with? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Tim,
Thanks for the welcome and the info! Its much appreciated! After I tackle the fuel pump, its on to brake replacement. Are you using the original UFO rotors or did you do an upgrade? If so, what upgrade seems to work best? I need to order brakes in the next couple of days for both the front and rear.

John,
you're welcome.
My opinion: Keep this classic (and actually rare) car in original condition. So I'd go for UFO rotors. Some guys over here upgrade their front brakes with the HP2 from the Audi A8 (D2). But that needs a bit more work to be done. The HP2 calipers don't fit to the HP1 (UFO) mounting bores. The hubs need to be changed. Due, the complete front struts should be exchanged. But, to my knowledge, even then a few further adaptations needed to be done.
The rear brakes don't need an upgrade in any way.

I have found out your location is the US (Dinam BMW). So I don't think you really need a break upgrade. The UFO brake is not so suitable for permanent high speed racing on the German Autobahn. Then they wear pretty fast and the UFOs are really expansive. Moreover, the HP2 has a bit more power.
But driving US Highways should never stretch the UFOs to their limits and they will surely last much longer.

Tim,
I agree 100%! I dropped the car off at the Audi dealer to have the original UFO's replaced. I'm in the Washington, DC area, so the car won't get much high speed use. Thanks again for the advice. I will post some pics when I get the car on the road.
