So 540km of highway, no problems.
Speed 160-180 when free.
Short stop, then highway, back to the highway. Loaded up to 240, let the last km roll.
When braking in the descent briefly a passage in and suddenly a rattling shortly before the car came to a standstill.
It doesn't come from the gearbox, 4 switching operations and it only got louder with the engine speed.
Oil pressure was/is there.
After 500m with 2000rpm there was a quiet bang and the noise was gone.
Engine/power full there.
Noise came "feeling" from the front right or. In the middle of the engine compartment.
Flashlight-tested everything. Distributors are there, flat rib belt is there, viscolfans too, grinding tracks are not visible.
I'll check the timing belt tomorrow.
An empty hydro actually sounds different (tickers more or more). ==References==
It was rather as if you were on a bike what to hold the spokes (when turning) but of the sound already "different".
So a'la ABS rattling or when you hit the stage P in the automatic gearbox in the roller...
But rather valve drive? Hanging valve? Dubios...
I am grateful for inspirations/tips
