For years I have been more or less silent readers, but I had signed up under the premise that at some point a V8 or an A8 D2 should be on the farm to make my Audi 90 and my 200 TQ exclusive summer vehicles.
Today it was so far:the "boy ride" with a 2001 A8 3.7 quattro.179tkm, second hand, good equipment (Navi+ with BOSE,v&h electric chairs,E-backrollo, side roller blinds,MuFu steering wheel with shift paddles,Xenon, original telephone in front passenger armrest etc.).Unfortunately with expired TÜV and stamped check booklet until mid 2008 with a good 50tkm without maintenance notice.ZR changed at 112tkm in 2008,summer + winter alus (original),where one of the winter tyres has a flat foot and was replaced during the test ride by a summer tire. All electrical works so far,the engine runs
Ordinary braking performance, cars don't break out to one side...but has a slight imbalance in driving, which upsets me.Of course,it can be that it has to do with the different profile (winter/summer) on the VA.Brakes did not enter, but at full steering stroke Medung from the AC but I know this from my 200s, that this is mostly due to the cables of the wear contacts.Visually...well.Parkrempler front right,so that the bumper on the corner approx. 1cm and was pushed slightly into the wheel box as well as a long envious scratcher on the driver's side,a spot on the roof and one on the bonnet.Mirror glass driver's side jumped and the handle grooves inside are scraped off (soft varnish).Otherwise, the car is clean from the inside, leather is not blown off or sat through, sky clean etc., so that one can understand the running performance of the car also by means of checkbook entries.
Had negotiated today 6350€ take-away price, but without fresh TÜV/AU.2 new winter tyres would not be the problem for me financially (work at the tyre wholesaler) and even with new discs & blocks I could buy with ample discount through the company.
With the D2 I unfortunately lack your extensive market knowledge and whether you should take the risk to buy a car on a blue mist without TÜV...what good is the cheap purchase, if at the latest the bad awakening comes at the steam boiler monitoring association...
From pure driving feeling I am definitely "angefixt"

Since I am more of the land road cruiser, the "small" 3.7, which will certainly also be noticeable at the pump in comparison to 4.2. Amazingly the low speed level in the fifth gear at country road speed, with one and a half thousand tours therefore likes to glide.Good, on the last liter I certainly don't pay attention to such a car, more important for me is the availability of spare parts and that you can do some things in self-direction;private screwdriver hall along with stage and expert help are at hand.
As I said, I'm a little divided because the thing with the TÜV and the easy vibration makes me manage.I don't want to laugh at a groschengrab again, where I'm lying more under instead of sitting in it.Have already thought about many alternatives as a everyday car but either I'll hang out with the Type 44 or the D2.I like room feeling, optics, haptics as well as the beautiful timeless design and I want something for my daily work path with comfort and not such a racing shopping bag
