thank you for your reply, if the master slave zylinder is broken ( I think it is ) is this easy to repair ! I have seen them on ebay for about 150 euro for both, so that is o.k.
there are two cylinders: The master, and the slave cylinder. The first one is up at your pedal, the other one is down at the clutch. One of both could be broken - the symptom fits.
But as important as a new cylinder is the correct venting of the clutch afterwards. That may require your Audi dealer as he has the required venting machine. Manual venting often causes troubles!
Hi Steve, it is recommended to change master and slave cylinder simultaneously. And as Bastian said: Bleeding procedure has to be executed carefully. And last but not least: The pair of cylinders is available much cheaper than 150€.
I strongly suggest to stay with Audi original parts here. You probably remember my breakdown due to a reproducted, cheaper master cylinder back in 2008. It lasted for not more than 60tkm before it was broken again.
Hi Bastian, (how funny, to communicate in English), of course, I remember. But there are quite a lot of differences between the quality of suppliers respectively their parts. I know some very confident part dealers. They deliver high quality spare parts for favourable prices. These parts are quite cheap but not jerry-built. But [censored] happens, and the sudden end of your clutch cylinder might simply also have been bad luck. There are repair-kits for cylinders available as well. This is the cheapest and very often a successful solution.
