On my profile you can (hopefully) see that I am a faible for old gasoline fliers (Bj. 90 - 99).
I don't want to fix myself on a brand here either, in general I prefer German value work and so I'm practically "on the Audi come".
I live in beautiful Hartberg in Styria and will sell my family carriage "BMW 520i Touring" these days.
The replacement is an A8 3.7 Quattro Bj. 01/97 to which I will visit tonight and test drive.
WARNING!
This is not the millionth request for purchase advice!
Read what I could find....
I just need one for this model. my visit today adapted tips.
The car is also located in Ebay ( Audi A8 3.7 ) and as you can see from the description and the sparse photos you have to take everything out of the nose of the seller.
So my questions:
The model is in blue with blue leather interior, as I found out not very common. Does the leather padding have special flaws? Can I get spare parts easily needed if necessary or can I just do this NEW?

What should I do when buying UNBEDINGT in service work in order to maintain it perfectly?
How expensive is the replacement of the steering element (track rod etc.) if it is knocked out?
Is there any clear (for laypersons) evidence of a defective electronics (P.S.: I don't mean what is broken when everything is dark!)?
What would you recommend me to consider during the visit and test drive ( steering, electronics and automatic problems are known to me...is there anything else typical?)?
Honestly, reading through all the requests and contributions will be quite different in between. Do you have to be an Audi fanatic in order to be happy with the "thickness" or are there also models where you are all around glowing and only have to expect normal wear-and-loss repairs?
Should it not be the 3,7, what would you recommend for the following needs?!
