Cardan shaft cuff(s)

Hi,

the day before yesterday the friendly Audi dealer explained to me that I had to buy a new cardan shaft for limp 1000 euros (approx.) because the cuff was torn from the front joint and there is no single one. Why should there be wear parts individually? After all, I also buy a new spring leg when the brake blocks are down. Well, because I just didn't see that, I looked everywhere where there's a cuff like that, I guess. Ebay helps. There are indeed traders who are so good at adjusting their axle cuffs with exact measurements and I had measured everything. If the time hadn't pushed, I would have ordered from the corresponding ebay dealer, but I wanted to finish. Let's go to the brand workshop. "Yes, which one?" you wonder now? Well, Fiat, of course! The cuff from the cardan shaft of the Panda 4x4 fits like a cast and is available individually. Order number 5 978 959. Joint marked exactly (!), securing ring removed, joint and def. Cuff off. With new cuff, grease, securing ring and new screws (don't forget to clean the threads in the flange with a thread cutter) put back on mark. Looks good. Unfortunately, I couldn't test it yet, because I haven't refilled the gear oil yet. Come on.

Hope that helps some with similar problems. You don't always have to buy a complete cardan wave if you just want the cuff. But I forgot to see if the back cuff is also the same as the front (and thus Panda 4x4).

Ciao, Tommy

So,
