ZR tires on the A8 D3 when Y tires are registered?

Hello.

I bought a newer A8 once after my A6 was in the workshop 3 dozen times in 9 months from the end of 2007. I have found that squeaking brakes (like a freight car from the railway) and falling parts from the Audi exhaust are now normal.

This is not a joke, by the way, but statements from the customer service manager of the Audi Werkstatt...

The nice seller took back the A6 in the meantime and in the absence of an alternative, and because I liked the car very much I bought an A8, 3.0 from 2003.

Now the question:

Before the test drive before the sale, the dealer informed me that the vehicle had been standing for 1 year and had received new rims from Ronal with new tyres for reasons not known to me 2 months ago.

After the test drive, I made a purchase contract on condition that the tires had to be rebalanced, as the vehicle was floating and the steering wheel was slightly wobbled...

On the day before delivery, a complete LongLife service was made, as well as after internal calculation also the tires weighed (€ 30,00) and the air pressure to standard values (2,00 - 2,2 bar).

Nevertheless, the A8 was more like a duck, the wobble in the steering wheel was still there.

I drove to my tyre dealer around the corner and asked him to balance the tires.

The tyre dealer refused to balance the tires because I have ZR tires on them, but Y tires are registered. He also pointed out that I should only drive ZR tyres if I would get the approval from the tyre manufacturer beforehand, had them registered and would also need new stickers for the air pressure, as ZR tyres have to be driven with up to 3,00 bar.

I confronted the Audi dealer with this. He said that this was complete nonsense.

Meanwhile, I have a letter from Conti. (Annex)

Was meint Ihr dazu?

Does the tyre have to be registered now, or not? (The Tüv says yes, an expert in the car dealership says no)
Can the tire have been damaged because Conti requires a significantly higher air pressure than Audi?

I'm supposed to take this and maybe. Have the tyre registered or insist on the right tyres?

Würde mich Interessieren, was Ihr dazu meint.

Thank you in advance.

Welcome

Mark

Hallo Markus,

Markus
