Hello, everybody.
Since I have not been able to register in the Audi Convertible Forum for any reason, I try my luck here.
The electric cover of my Audi Cabrios, model year 1997 does not want to open for 2 weeks.
(at the last closing a few days before it worked still without problems
The following procedure:
Pull the hand brake – open the lock – lower the windows.
By pressing the switch to open the top, absolutely nothing happens.
In the forum www.audicabrio.info I searched for helpful entries. Often, damaged harnesses are pointed out. There is a repair kit from VOBA.
With my licensed software VCDS (formerly VAG-Com) I first read out the error memory:
A sporadic mistake was made.
Addresse 26: Electric. Dachbet. Control unit part number: 8G0 959 255 A
Component and/or version: automdeck

2 years ago, I bought the Audi repair manual for electrics at the large online department store.
With this and various instructions from the above forum, I tried to understand the measurement blocks.
In the closed state, the values are shown in Figure 1.
The values in Figure 2 are available with the top unlocked and raised in front.
In the many experiments I noticed the following:
Even without the hand brake – the indicator lamp in the AI shows the hand brake correctly, so I think that the switch for the hand brake is in order. - I can lift the top up front. Normally, a magnet should provide for the locking if the hand brake is not tightened – so it has worked so far.
From the Rep guide:
The microswitch –F172 and the magnet for cover lock –N187 are located in the roof frame on the left and can only be replaced with the left lock part.
Unfortunately, I do not have the required circuit diagrams to check the switches for function.
Is it possible that this is my problem? The switch F172 reports "locked" and the opening procedure is not set in motion.
I hope you can help me. Thank you for your answers.
Greetings
Rainer
