I'd like to ask you a question about the exchange and installation of the oil thermo valve.
So with my PT engine after now more 12tkm the oil temperature has never gone big over 60 degrees, no matter whether winter or summer, highway or city even the first line was never reached.
Have the impression that the oil is permanently passed through the oil cooler. Also needs almost 15 km until the water has 75 degrees in winter. Water thermostat just new.
So I wanted to do everything new in the oil creek when changing oil. Spring, clamping bracket and thermo valve are new, but have no markings. Of course, everything also looks symmetrical, so that a precise rotation angle of the flush slits in the valve seems useless.
The old valve seemed to have been rotted and stuck. Just as I saw it, it would have meant that he would have NEVER passed the oil through the cooler, but would have always remained in the engine.
Therefore my question: How exactly is the valve to be installed?
All the explosion drawings are known to me, which means that the valve should be pushed off at the screwed flange plate when opening and thus release the channels to the cooler.
Is that right? Then why did I turn it around?

The old valve was really in there by the way.
Thanks for all the tips
Greetings Henning
