"Engine is running" - Relay

I've been thinking of building a modern automatic light system, so i dont have to switch the lights on and off all the time.. And i figured there is a relay somewhere wich triggers when engine is actually running, so i could use this to control my lights relay... but where can i find it? Or the wire that goes to this relay?
