Space supply
The V8 tweaks a little under the arms in direct comparison. Large-grown people get head contact with the roof especially with serial seats and sliding roof. The front armrests in the doors are still far away, if you want to lay your elbow on the upper door panel, it falls into the void at first. We need to get used to it. In the rear it looks bad with the legroom – in direct comparison.
The 500 SEL offers space in abundance, especially in the rear. Here even a long-legged lady can cross her legs and sit comfortably. You don't feel cramped in the front either, the elbow is on the upper door panel at the first attempt while you have enough space to the right.
Conclusion: The V8 is more intimate, the 500's more spacious – balance, because business

Travel services
The V8 3.6 appears in a direct comparison in the area of acceleration much more splashy, although the data speak a different language (V8 3.6 Automatic >9s, 500er >7s.) When switching directly, the 500er appears as a lame crutch, the small 3.6 V8 as a rocket.
Early V8 interested parties who previously drove S-Class confirmed this matter strangely. The reason for this is probably the pedal path. The 500 comes only on a good kick on the pedal in driving, while the V8 starts with a comparatively low kick.
At the final speed, however, the Audi wins itself as 3.6 with automatic.
Driving behaviour
Here, a fluctuating caravan faces a go-kart – in direct comparison. I like to scroll the V8 in curves, with the 500s I prefer to cruise comfortably. Especially since he also sends out the more typical V8 noise.
Conclusion:
My opinion is up. What do you think? Here are certainly some of you who also have a 500 (or. S-Class in total) or also have a 7-BMW as a comparison object at the door. I'd be happy to hear more about your experience.
