Hall oils!
My recently purchased A8 4.2 quattro (EZ 4/99 Facelift) describes in the accompanying manual (as of the end of 98) how to query the oil level via the FIS menu using the rotary knob in the center console (menu -> queries -> oil level). However, there is no "oil level" in the query menu, I can only read the remaining distance to the next service. I have also produced brochure material of the A8 D2 Facelift (Stands 11/98 and 9/99), where the FIS is described:
"Driver information system (FIS) with display for [...] service intervals and oil level"
Yesterday I was in the Audi workshop with the vehicle to encode the comfort module (central locking) according to my wishes. Why the oil level is not questionable about the FIS also nobody knew there, and apparently there is no way to change anything about it by coding. A similar A8 TDI D2 (Bj 00, no idea whether 2.5 or 3.3) also had this function, nor did an A8 2.8 D2 (Bj 2001) of a workshop employee (at least according to the A8 D2 model). His statement).
I wonder if this is so correct or not. Just for fun Audi certainly did not describe the oil level query in the manual, especially since the function is also mentioned in the brochure. I would be interested to know if anyone here has an A8 D2 in which the oil level query about the FIS works, and if maybe even someone knows if and how to do it. can be activated.

Beim meinem S8 (2000 FL) wird zwar im FIS angezeigt, wenn das Minimum erreicht ist, aber abfragen kann ich den Ölstand auch nicht. War allerdings schon immer etwas erstaunt, dass das Abfrage-Menü im FIS nur gerade den einen Eintrag, das Service-Intervall, drin hat.

Ja, ist schon merkwürdig. Ich frage mich, wieso der Punkt in der Bedienungsanleitung erwähnt wird (hat nichtmal ein Sternchen, ist also keine Sonderausstattung), und auch, warum die Funktion in den Prospekten gelistet wurde, wenn sie offenbar garnicht verfügbar ist.

Normalerweise schon. Allerdings war ich beruflich bedingt (ja, es gibt auch Leute, die über die Feiertage arbeiten müssen) nicht zu Hause, und meine angesammelte private Mail werde ich wohl erst in den nächsten Tagen aufarbeiten können.

Also mir ist der Punkt in der Anleitung nie aufgefallen, muss mal schauen, ob das in meiner AAnleitung auch drin ist. Apropos Anleitung... was mir aufgefallen ist, ist, dass der S8 in meiner Anleitung gar nicht drin ist (Motor)... naja, wer liest denn schon Anleitungen...
