was this day to a gear oil change described elsewhere at ZF in Holzwickede. In doing so, the friendly mechanics have drawn my attention to a functional tube on the engine underside left (driver side), which is apparently slightly leaking at the exit from the engine block (cooling water). Had unfortunately no Digicam at hand (openly said I had no Please, however, on the basis of my description for support:
Black metal tube, diameter approx. 1 cm, length approx. 20 cm, runs from the block (on the driver's side fairly far in front and below) about parallel to the oil measuring rod tube downwards, is fixed to the side of the engine oil tank (without functional connection, only for fastening) and ends approximately at height lower edge oil tank in a kind of 6 or 8-kant screw head. A 3,7 of a pre-mopper A8 on the neighboring stage did not have this tube.
It is a component that is a component of a component. Does even someone in the described place have to do with a seal that does not honor their name / with cooling water loss?
