Hello dear V8'ler,

First of all a praise for the great forum here. I've read for a while now and learned a lot.

I'm currently driving a 100 C4 2.3E, which still has a reasonable engine, but optically the car is through. He's suffered in the 15 years and I can't see him anymore. ;)

Now I am looking for a vehicle that I can enjoy again, where cleaning is worthwhile again and above all, with which you can have a little fun again. ;)

I have to invest the 10k before and since I have not necessarily had the worst experience with the 100 C4, I have immediately looked again for rings in the relevant portals and what I get for my money. (For me) Amazingly, there were some potent looking A8s and currently this car doesn't want to get out of my head anymore. He's standing there looking just great, rarely seen such a timeless beautiful car.

I then read a lot and was also close to rejecting the idea because of the gearbox problems, which is reported "everywhere". Thanks to this forum, it seems to me not so impossible to drive an A8 machine long and satisfied (keyword ATF change).

Enough of the introduction, to the matter sweetheart :)

I have 10k € for a purchase and would like the optimal solution, namely a 4.2 with LPG in a reasonable condition. For the sake of necessity also a 3.7 or 4.2er without LPG, where however with the total cost then the conversion should be possible. This is more difficult, because the limit for the A8 is then 7k. It's important to me that the car has leather. I don't want to ride an A8 with velour, that wouldn't be stylish and, second, I have two children who have already stained and leather is a good choice.

Everything else in the equipment (bose, solar roof, Navi, Navi+) would be gimmicks that I would take, but which would not be important if the rest were right.

I don't have any problems with finding time. The 100 has to go to the TÜV next month and I'll do it anyway, so I can take some time.

I have now opened a car with me in the village, which already agrees with me, but wanted to hear from you beforehand what the price says:

With the mileage, my feeling (founded by a few days mobile.de and autoscout searches, so nothing solid) tells me that the car is too expensive, especially since the dealer does not want to give a guarantee. I have a chance, right? Arguments to trade down this car and, above all, what would be realistic for the vehicle?

Achja noch was:
I know that in potential test drives I have to pay attention to the axle and the gearbox. But since I have never driven automatic, let alone an A8, I do not know the desired state of course. I had to watch out for noise and rough switching, is there anything else that would really be important?

I'm just assuming that the 4.2s don't hurt the 200tsd km if it's been properly maintained?

Sorry for the many text, but I didn't have to post here in two months with a ellenlangen Problemthread, so rather in advance. ;)

Nice greeting & above all thanks to all who have read until the end
Pascal

Found something else:

Apparently very little went, although I almost look at it as utopia, but you never know:

Todchick is also this one, but certainly fixed price. If someone knows the vehicle, I'd guess it's at one meeting or another:

I've got a few others, but I don't want to scare you off either. ;)

Hi Pascal!

Da bekommt man einfach was mit!
