Hello everyone!

I have given myself a lot of thought this evening on how to save a lot of work. I try to describe what I'm up to and try to express myself as clearly as possible.

My project at the weekend: To change the injection nozzle on cylinder 4 of my 3.3 TDI (AKF).

The injection nozzles can only be mounted in a specific mounting position of the camshafts. That would be in the first position:
-left 6 and 8
-rights 1 and 3
and crankshaft turned 180° on then:
-left 5 and 7
-right 2 and 4
The actual removal of the injection nozzle does not involve much effort.
That's clear.

The first position is defined by: in the oil filler you have to see a complete cylinder head screw.
Then turn the second position 180° crankshaft.

The work I really want to spare myself is to bring the front of the A8 into service position, i.e. Remove the bumper and pull the lock carrier forward to turn the engine at the central screw.

I currently have the engine (after only 3 starts) exactly in the first position. I removed the cover of the timing belt to observe the markings on the camshaft discs. I noticed that the number of positions in which the engine comes to a standstill is limited.

Now my crucial question: The camshaft discs are already marked. If I now from a translation crankshaft camshafts of 1-2, i.e. The camshaft rotates half as fast as the crankshaft, going out. Then 180° crankshaft = 90° camshaft. I could easily read this and, according to my experience, the engine would have to stop after a few starts "accidentally" in this position.

What do you think my plan might work, or do I have an all-destructive mistake in my theory?

Greetings.
Raoul
