According to current press reports, the A8 now gets the 4.2 FSI with 350 hp from the Q7 installed. From the basic concept, the engine is identical to that of the RS4.
The new engine replaces the current 4.2 with 335 hp.
Now to my question:
Does this 4.2-engine in the A8 still have a timing belt or was it also given a chain in the context of the model maintenance?
In the current A6 with the same rated power (which also gets the new FSI) the 4.2 engine already had the chain drive from the start of the model, just like in the S4.
However, I can recall a comparative test of an A6 4.2 with an A8 4.2, where this detail was mentioned. Unfortunately, I can't find the test right away.
Can anyone definitely answer this question?

Dann habe ich und es werden im Forum ja immer mehr 3.7er ja bald Autos, deren Motor einer verganenen Spezies angehören...........
