Since I converted my former 3.6er to 4.2er, I recently thought "if everything is from 4.2er, only the front spring legs are missing".
Now in the "Querrenkerthread" my efforts were to get some original spare parts for it.After I had everything that I think needs to be exchanged, it should start today.
So I started to disassemble and after I had the spring leg outside, actually only the spring had to be changed.Of course I was constantly looking for defective parts, since I had a slight clapping from the front when driving over rough unevennesses, always you need a success experience !
What surprised me was that both legs of the spring have the same Audi number, well, I thought, then the 3.6s are identical with the 4.2rs, at least at the bottom.
When I had everything apart and sat in two disassembled FB (spring legs), the control started,...well the old crossbar could clap at the front cone,is quite slightly knocked out.The upper FB bearing is different anyway, but looks good (for the first time put away)
) AND THE AXILARILLENKULAGER ! .....IDENTICAL....it should actually be smaller, but it wasn't,... since I've actually been driving around with 4.2 FB all the time, but I had a 3.6 FB camp on it, no wonder that it was so hard to get off was completely under tension. Then I started to combine the best parts of BEIDER FBs, WITH the right FB warehouse and many new parts, not quite finished yet, but until tonight I have at least one page finished AND with the right parts !
Then I can save myself the track measurement, because he just had one at the beginning of the year (sorry Manfred wg. Protocol, but can copy the old !).
So, I have renewed: spring leg bearings, axial groove bearings, shock absorbers, spur bar head, lower crossbar + stabi bearing, wheel bearing, divid.Screws AND the plastic cap at the top of the spring leg bearing.
On the occasion I treated everything with colourless cavity guard wax, since one can no longer reach some corners afterwards (in the appendix), I highly recommend, if it is dry, it is matt and the underbody has a nice colourless "protective paint".
Greetings Thomas
