How to remove glue from the dashboard?

When I bought my Audi, a cupholder was glued on the dashboard (how to get an idea like that).
This is now off, but the glue is still stuck on this one on the dashboard, because I don't know what I can remove it with without damaging the grooved surface.
The glue is a kind of foam mat, as is often found on towel rails, adhesive strips for window sealing and similar.

Maybe one of you has experiences with removing such glue from the dashboard and can give me a useful tip?

Thank you in advance!!!
