Hello together!

was today with my long v8 in the workshop and unfortunately had to learn that the right rear shock absorber oiled ... but the actual shock came only with the replacement price: of course, it is recommended to exchange both sides (especially since the left damper already has corrosion cracks) - and one of these high-tech shock absorbers costs 948 euros! Then there are the new spring plates (121 euro per piece), which would also be exchanged - all net prices, of course ... the gross material price alone amounts to over 2,500 euro for both rear shock absorbers (allegedly, with the long version it is not the same as with the "short" v8).
When I felt the approaching heart attack, I had to sit down - my question: are the dampers in Germany just as expensive or did audio create special "Austrian" prices for it? There may be a more favorable source or source of supply. Equivalent replacement types for the original installed parts?
I hope to find an alternative - otherwise I will probably reconsider this investment several times

many thanks already in advance - and if it is only comforting words

Hi,
