I had already written a post a few times that our steering is difficult in winter and quite hangs when driving out of the garage, the steering wheel is stiff and can't turn an inch.
We've had this problem for years... To be honest.
A new pump, new oil ... Nothing helped. In the warmer seasons, steering did not cause any problems. Only in winter, when the Audi had stood for a while, everything was frozen.
No one could help us, to be honest, we never had the necessary change to buy the Audi a new steering gear from the front.
Well... Now he's got one. And a smooth monthly wage said goodbye.
And should I tell you something?
The old steering gear was not broken!
It was allowed for our thickness but not at all !!!
Now all of you probably think "HÄÄÄH ? Like that?" That's exactly how we looked!
The steering gear would have been for an A6. ♪ Stupid show ♪
I don't think the Audi was built with such a steering gear back in 1992. There wasn't an A6.
More likely, some of the dear previous owners have built a wrong one in there. Or it happened in a workshop "by mistake"? Computer error, order error ? What I can hardly imagine. What do I know? it would have been noticeable, however, that the whole does not fit the steering column. Well... has just been made suitable. ...
And there was something that didn't get 100 percent together and caused the clinging when it was cold.
I think it was a backyard action sometime, because it's nowhere listed that something had been done on the steering gear.
The VAG Werkstatt still said before the conversion "We hope not even on the steering column and on the axle what was done"
I can only say... I had felt such an increasing nausea the last time in my pregnancy ! We already saw the Euros in bundled notes changing owners !
Thank God it was then at the end but "only" the steering gear ! But still... bye bye Euros.
Now we can all explain the problems of the past years ! We've been driving our tires in a row because the trail was turning around.
But the nicest thing was something ...
My husband took the fat guy out of the garage yesterday. He didn't come back in a while.
I've had such a stupid feeling.
Well... he finally came and said, "Come out" I said, "Oh no!"
They in the workshop had rammed the Audi with the snow slide. HALLO !!! Is he sooo small???
The turn signal and the fog lamp are broken... Both fog lights don't say any more mucks and the bumper also has shimmering. I cheered with joy !!!
This afternoon, the turn signal and the fog lamp are to be re-made, we can wait for it. The bumper has to be painted, but should not be made until it gets warmer. HÄÄÄ ? Do they paint outside?
We then need a rental car for the paint day, I'm just curious if we have to pay for it ....
