Since you are also professionally concerned with engines and the like, this question is addressed to you here, as I ask for a valid technically sound answer. The other members of this forum do not want to be piqued about the reality that I have not asked this question to the general public! So I am looking to find out the following: The Fa. SKN sells tuning chips that are specially adapted to the MSG installed in the vehicle. The friendly gentleman there gave me the basic data( 25 NM+; 24 PS+) but unfortunately could not tell at which speed the + of 25 NM is due. So my first question would be the following: Is it basically possible to save the promised 10% fuel by increasing the torque? Let's remember this is a serious chip tuning and all those who are going to weather right now, who wants to save fuel shouldn't buy a V8, because I don't give a shit about your part! I don't want a fuel-saving car either, but you should also be able to use an old V( engine more effectively! If I had known 4 1/2 years ago that alone the rep. costs would amount to terrible 7500.- Euro I would not have to think about saving fuel today... . SKN also offers so-called ECO-Tuning -Ergo a software that is designed to reduce consumption without reducing the serial power of the engine. SKN says that in ECO tuning the extra power is only 10 NM and approx. 12 hp, but promises a fuel saving effect of up to 20% in urban traffic (and that's my priority!) of which the large engines of the Audi V8 are approx. 10% left over. I would like to know if YOU would take the time to explain to me/us whether these offers are realistic and how they can be realized.
It thanks you and of course all the others very much, Martin
PS.: I think almost all of them here, even those who wouldn't admit it publicly, are puking over the KS consumption of our V8 engine.
