I'm about to perform a major overhaul on my 1993 S4 with 4.2 l ABH engine.

Somewhere I know that I have read that the Audi V8 basically is two Inline 16v VW engines with a common crankshaft.

Thinking of that makes me wounder if I could take two sets of 16v VW camshafts (tuned of cause) in order to retreive even more top end power?

Why don't I just get a set of Cat Cams V8 cams? Well, they cost slightly over 1900EUR for my engine with 254 degree profile, while two sets of VW 16v cams with 260 degree profile costs just under 1200EUR. I guess I can find even cheeper 16v cams if I shop around a bit.
