Making a audi 80 with ABH 4,2 32v for stockcarracing, I met some challenges with the engine managment.

On the engine managment harnes, there are several conectors that I need to know what are. I hope anyone here can help me.
The conectors are placed beside the controll unit contactor.

Almost all of them got two numbers - I hope that would help.

I will place photos of the connectors later.

Yep, Fotos MUST be.

The numbers are not really significant.

I just want to connect only the needed wires to get the engine started.
Here are the pictures of the connectors.

Are you shure this is the original cable harness? I never seen it like this way...

I'm not sure if it is original, it is the first time I work with the type of engine. However, it looks original and fits well with the diagrams.

ECU number is 4A0 907 557 A - Do you know if there are immobilizer on these? Because, I get spark at the spark plugs but no fuel through the nozzles. That's when I used it the diagram, and grounded all the right wires also given power to where stated.

I believe it's just a small error, which makes it not start.....

ECU is for PT (manual gearbox), maybe there are not all the same wires/colours to your ABH...

Are you sure it's for PT? Google tells me it's for ABH .......
I now have good spark, but no fuel.

I really not want to do microsquirt on this one....

Can anyone tell my what controlls the injector signal - what tells the ECU when to open right injector.

Is it the:
¤ camshaft position sensor?
¤ Hall sensor in the distributor?
¤ Engine speed sensor?
¤ Crank position sensor?

Camshaft IS the Hallsensor, no other sensor is there... and it's no need to start the engine

It's need Engine speed sensor and crankposition sensor

Can ABH be installed on Audi 80? I believe it is too big motor for Audi 80 engine bay.

Hi Munir,

no, it isn't. A tuning company called "Weigel" has built such a car in the early 90s, based on a 3,6l V8 PT, having the same dimension as the ABH. Still, a lot of modifications are required, but the car was a monster (due to it's weight).

I have plenty of pictures from that kind of conversion, even an UR quattro with V8 engine. Don't forget that the Audi V8 was the most compact V8 engine of the world back in time!

Regards

Bastian

More compact than the Buick engine used by Rover for their P5/P6 (3500 cc) ?

I don't know the dimensions of the engine but I would be surprised if especially Buick would have been coming up with an engine being that small in size...

"...The Rover 3.5 litre V8 began life as the Buick 215, an all-aluminium engine introduced by Buick in 1960/61. The compact engine was lightweight, at just 144 kg (318 lb).The Rover engine was heavier but stronger than the Buick engine, with a dry weight of about 170 kg (375 lb) ..."

However,i think it was without ancillaries, because:

Audi V8 3.6 engine weighed 215kg with all fluids and was 508mm long.
