Hello everyone.
I purchase a V8 in the US last year to bring over here to Luxembourg...thing is the car has a few problems I need to resolve before bringing it over.

First thing is I need to mention that I have already replaced all the plugs, wires, water pump, timing belt, ..basically the car had an extensive service last year.

The problem is..when I start the car..it starts well when cold but went it starts to warm up...takes only a few minutes..it starts running sporadic...as if not running on all cylinders.

My other problem also is I am not with the car right now..it is still in the US trying to get fixed and I have little trust in anyone torching these cars..so I cannot get anyone to check the fault codes which woudl be the easy way out.

Does anyone know what can cause this condition?
I need some ideas.....any idea ...will help.

thanks to all.

Howdy Paul,

ago two years i have had the akin problem with my 3.6 engine. When your car not runs on all cylinder´s you should check the runner inside the distributor and check the water Temp. Sensor on the backward side from the motor.

Hi Paul,

are you aware of the US audi V8 mailing list? Perhaps somebody is in the near of your car and is able to come around and have a look. Some of the guys are extremely skilled!

Visit: http://www.audifans.com/mailman/listinfo/v8

Frank mentioned the engine speed sensor and the ignition point sensor - that's always a good point to start with. What about the intake air temperature sensor?

If you find somebody who is able to read out the fault codes he is probably also able to run a measure block diagnosis - this helps to find out of a sensor is providing wrong values.

Good luck!

Bastian
