Hi,
I feel that ribbed belt of my ABH has become weak and might break anytime. There is some sound coming and I found a few cracks too. I can't find OEM spares easily. My question is which belt can be used other than OEM. It is probably 6PK2475. Is it easy to replace because I ll have to guide the mechanic. Can anyone guide step by step technique or refer me to page of service manual? I have service manual (thanks to my friend Tim Schroder). Thanks

Hi Munir,

Since you have the manual, changing the belt should not be a problem for your mechanic. To remove the belt, pull it down at the longest point until the dynamic tensioning arm can be fixed in the corresponding hole with a suitable pin. The biggest problem is often remembering the course of the belt. A photo or a drawing is very helpful. If the length of the belt is not visible, you can cut it after removal and measure the length in millimetres. 6PK is definitely correct.

Hi Tim,
Yes it wasn't a big problem and pages (15-10-1 and 10-10-12) from the manual were of great help. As you mentioned the mechanic installed it via wrong course resulting hard steering. I went under the car and helped according to picture. length is 2480mm and I used Ford crown Victoria belt item number F5TE 8620 FA which is exactly same. There is a very helpful parts portal which gives you alternate parts (part interchange) which might fit ..... it is https://www.autopartskart.com/
Thanks again
