hi!

last time i have quite strange problem with my Audi v8 4.2.
It smoke quite hard on start, but only if previous run last lass or about 1 minute.
If it runs longer time, next time there are no smoke on start.
Smoke is gray and smells bad (so this is not water condense ).
Car uses about 3-5 dl of oil per 1000km

Thanks for any help !

Sounds a bit like a burnt cylinder head gasket. What about the coolant level? Does it increase? Do you have the coolant reservoir under pressure?

My cars don't like short runs... and some of my friends cars also.

They start not really good and smell bad... like the unburnt fuel whitch old cars with bad adjusted carburetor do.

Nop coolant level is ok and there is no pressure in the coolant reservoir.

That's not a bad sign. The oil consumption is more than normal but not as bad as some other 4,2L engines do. May be after a short engine run a mixture of oil and unburnt fuel causes the smoke. You should keep an eye on the oil consumption.
