This personal web site, not mine, has a full set of wiring diagrams, it is for the American version but should be the same for LHD models and help you sort out your electrical troubles. As to your washer switch, mine does not push forward, it has a high pressure switch on it and operates the normal pump when pulled, but then my car is a 1990 3.6 version. I am receiving a full printed workshop manual in the near future and may be able to help further in several days time.
