Thanks for your information. Will sure keep that in mind.

Just a question :

You describe the broken Lambda probe as resulting in a surging engine.
I wouldnt necessarily say that is what mine does. Engine is totally stable when idling. It is only under accelleration that you notice the oscillation. Its like: now it pulls hard, now it pulls less hard, now it pulls hard, now it pulls less hard. Or like you put your foot down and released it a little, put your foot down and released it a little.

Is this pattern consistent with a broken O 2 sensor?

Thanks again

Ciao,

if you have any friends that does tuning of cars (especially turbo cars) they might have an Lambdameter... on that one you can read out what numbers the lambda are giving to the the comp. box. The measurements from the lambda measures how much unburnt fuel there is in the exhausts and by giving that to the computer the computer in the car calculates how long the injectors should be open...

Hmmmm,,,,something just comes to mind.

When I put the car through MOT. they said the CO2 reading was way way too high. That could possibly be another indicator that the O2 sensor is faulty?

Hmm, I am not sure...

I did find this on the web for you:
"What causes high CO2 (carbon dioxide)? High CO2 is the product of a good running engine. The better your engine runs, the more CO2 it produces. The only way to reduce CO2 emissions is to buy a fuel efficient car. The bigger your gas guzzler, the more CO2 it makes. "

One thing I have heard on O2 sensor trouble shooting is to unplug it; if it is faulty, it should run better unplugged...

Have you had a chance to pull the codes yet? Scott has instructions on his website for this procedure (very easy to do!):

Hope that helps,
