I have a V8 hood I'm busy stripping the paint off and I've noticed the front rubbers are a bit messed up. Anyone have a good set or perhaps know if the dealership would even carry these anymore?

Don't they hold parts for 10 years after the model ends production? Should leave 2 years to source stuff. :-)

the V8 production was ended in 1993 Hence, I guess we may be happy that we get any parts at all...

But yes, the parts politics of Audi is a big mess - one good reason why I will _NEVER_ buy a new Audi

That gives me 3 years to get my act together.

I think the "newest" Audi I'd buy would be the RS2.

I couldn't even find a part for my VW 2006 mk1 Golf late last year. That was 1 month after VW decided to stop producing them.

If I could get some good rubber seals/moulds for the V8 I'm going to have them produced by the local rubber supply shop. Might actually go have a word with them since they do make custom one-off casts for classic cars. Probably 1/10th of dealer price too.

could you provide a photo or a part number for the parts you require? Probably it's still available from Audi, if not, it could make a lot of sense to reproduce them...

I'll try and snap some pics this evening. It's the rubber along the leading edge of the bonnet/hood.

I need to find some time to get to the rubber shop, but first need to carefully detach the parts as the one side is already torn.

Actually, another set of seals I'm after are the ones around the headlamps. I know these were available from Bruce at GermanAutoConnection in the USA, but last e-mail I spotted from him indicated a sale of his property.
