92 audi v8 quattro stuck in one gear after small fender bender.



What could it be. Auto tranny-Park reverse and drive all work but it seems like its stuck in 2nr or 3rd. I even try to manually shift it and it still wont change gears. Anyone know what happen? The fender bender was small.

check the throttle valve potentiometer connector in the front of the engine. When you trans ECU doesn't show up that it's in emergency operation (all lights on in the gear indication field), it is most probably a sensor problem. And usually it's the named sensor and the connector (corrosion, or in your case you harmed it during the bender).

Hi Chris,
when you look in front of the engine, you see the idle stabilizer valve. It´s a black round box with a connector at the left.
Under that black round box you find the throttle valve potentiometer and his connector also from the left side. In it they are 6 pins, clean them and the pins from the potentiometer.
