This is how my car starts: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IGPOGmMFdgE I recently replaced the water pump, timing belt, and all the tensioners and everything. After a few starts like the one in the video, it starts to idle normally, but when driving produces no power, and does not want to rev much. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Fuel pressure? Looks a bit like that. Have you read out the ECU fault memory?
Does it matter if the engine is cold or warm? I have (had? have replaced the pump but no long-term experiences yet) the same problems on my 220V (3B) - when it's hot, it starts excellent. When it's cold, it starts well - but when it's warm, it requires me to start for up to 10 seconds until it comes up. But it runs well afterwards. When I start, turn off again, and start again it starts immediately - as on your video!

I have replaced the fuel pressure regulator and the fuel filter 300 miles ago because i used to have to crank it for 10 seconds 2 or 3 times before it would start I have a new fuel pump in the garage, going to try that this weekend.
I need to get a jump wire to be able to use my vag 1527
Yes, i am in Chicago, IL, will fill out profile and try the mailing list.

I guess it looks like incorrect timing adjustment. The engine cranks with relative high revs during starting. It sounds a bit like less compression, possibly caused by wrong timing. I would check this first.

When the revs go to the 2k range, thats me giving it gas
i also suspect a leak coming from my new watepump, so i will look at the timing when i open everything up this weekend

No, I mean the revs (and the sound of cranking) before the enigne starts working. But check the timing, I'm sure that' s it.

I would start of by double checking your work. I'm assuming the car ran fine before you did the timing belt? Set the motor to top dead center, and check your timing marks. If that checks out okay, I would then check your firing order, as well as making sure both of your coils are plugged in(sounds like only half the motor is firing, so you may have left one unplugged. Please report back your findings. Allan

that's what I agree with. So I guess that one cylinder bank has incorrect timing.

I changed the Timingbelt last saturday, i found a quite huge offset due the crankshaft to the Cylinderhead on the drivers side, the passengers side Head had 2 or 3 degrees more offset then the other side. (see attachment the driversside Cylinderhead was at top dead center, i put a hexkey on the TDC mark on the pulley)
