Before I say anything, I already replaced the 2 engine crank sensors, and my car still dies randomly weather the engine is hot or cold. How long it runs without dieing varies, from right away to more than a few minutes. Do you guys think this could be a fuel pump issue? And are they hard to replace? When I turn the key all the way (without starting it), I cant hear the fuel pump prime, but I'm not sure if you're supposed to with these cars. I have not checked fuel pressure yet, but will probly within a couple days. I also have an extra relay that I will probly throw in just in case. Thanks for all the help!

Ok, so the service manual says to take off the fuel filler cap and put your ear up to the car, and see if you can hear the fuel pump prime when someone else turns the key. I heard nothing. I even got into the trunk and put my ear up to the fuel pump cover, and still couldnt hear anything.

Im also thinking maybe its the mass airflow sensor? Would that cause the engine to die randomly? When the engine does run, it runs great. Thanks.

The Fuelpump starts work if the ECU notice a couple of RPM.
(afaik more than 50 but not sure)

Restart after the engine hast stopped is possible?

Maybee a bad grounding, wich looses connection throug vibration?

Yes, restart is always possible after it quits. I was also thinking maybe bad wiring, but have no clue where to even start??

You can download the RLF at Helpdesk,
it is in german, but there you find the wiring diagrams.
I havent had this issue before.

Hello, could very well be fuel pump related. I had this problem with my 1993 S4 20V turbo. A new fuel pump cured it.
