I read the fault codes on our car and got a fault code of 2312..which is suppose to be the coolant sensor..But where is this thing located...anyone know?

on the backside of the (right?) cylinder head. G62, if I am not wrong.

From what I have read here in this forum, you are right. The sensor should be at the back of the right (driving direction)cilinderblock.

Yes, I am in Portugal since 1985, except for a 4-year interval (1988-1992) when I lived in Italy. I am located in Porto, so in the north. Quite a lot of rain during winter. Well, we do not really have winter here, as you probably know.
When I saw your surname, I figured your roots are overhere.
