I also removed the front silencer from my '92 V8 4,2. It sounded great, until you rev the engine. Then it sounds like a bunch of firecrackers in a metal barrell! It was useless on the road, so i welded the silencer back on, and ordered a Fox Exhaust cat back stainless system. Now my car has a real nice V8 rumble at idle and low RPM, and a powerful roar at high RPM. Really turns heads. It is a little more noisy inside the car, but you can still drive it all day, without getting headaches or being annoyed. The fox system is also lighter and better flowing than the original, and it looks MUCH better!
